The university as you describe it, might be using Comprehensive Security Controls. Mobile Connect, Global VPN, and NetExtender all are tools for allowing users from Outside the University network to Remotely connect into the University's Network.Īs already suggested, go elsewhere that isn't using Gateway Security.
Downloading any SonicWall Software won't help, unless you have specific instructions on doing so. Nothing you can do about it from within the University's network. I'm presuming the University doesn't allow downloads from certain IP ranges, and the provider of your game it's source is being filtered. The University Network is using Gateway Security where the NSA appliance (SonicWall) is designed to filter content, based on Application, Object, or Service rules.
Okay, what you have described, is a University Network that is probably using NSAxxxx SonicWall.
